Most electronic perimeter security devices are passive, without the psychological deterrence of inflicting injury or pain, as with razor wire fences and play the limited role of Detection.  Active barriers such as Electric fences are viable Psychological barriers, which can address the multiple roles of Deterrence, Detection, Delay and Denial of entry. Intelligent barriers go a step further, by empowering these active barriers to also communicate and transmit real-time images from the Intrusion Zone.
